How can osteopathy help you?

Welcome to Optima Osteo, where we're dedicated to helping individuals get out of pain fast and reach their peak physical condition and well-being through osteopathy.

Osteopaths are devoted healthcare professionals equipped with extensive training, specializing in the intricacies of the musculoskeletal system.

Our approach begins with a comprehensive assessment to pinpoint the root cause of your discomfort, followed by an accurate diagnosis and the formulation of a personalized treatment plan. This plan may incorporate manual manipulative techniques, tailored strengthening exercises, and customized stretching routines—all meticulously designed to alleviate your pain. Moreover, we'll equip you with practical advice and recommendations, empowering you to independently manage your symptoms effectively.

Listening and examination

Osteopathy revolves around personalized care tailored to each patient's needs. During your initial appointment, we allocate more time to ensure thorough attention to:

  • Medical History: I'll inquire about your reason for consultation, your overall medical history, and any pertinent factors relating to your health.
  • Physical Examination: A detailed physical examination, incorporating palpation, enables me to pinpoint areas of restriction or tension in your body.
  • Diagnosis: Drawing from the collected information, I'll formulate a diagnosis and elucidate how osteopathy can address your concerns.
  • Treatment Plan: Together, we'll devise a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
Diagnosis and treatment

At Optima Osteo, our approach to osteopathic diagnosis and treatment is centered around precision and personalisation. Through thorough assessment and analysis, we pinpoint the root cause of your discomfort, understanding that every individual is unique. We craft tailored treatment plans, drawing from a diverse array of manual techniques including:

  • Joint Techniques: Gentle and precise mobilizations to improve joint mobility and function.
  • Muscle Techniques: Stretching and myofascial release techniques to alleviate muscle tension and improve muscle health.
  • Visceral Techniques: Gentle work on internal organs to enhance their function and release tension.
  • Craniosacral: A gentle approach to balance the central nervous system.

Additionally, we incorporate specific strengthening and rehabilitation exercises with customized stretching routines to address your specific needs. With a focus on restoring harmony within the body, we empower you to reclaim control over your health and well-being. Experience the difference of our patient-centered approach at Optima Osteo.

Continuing care

Due to the physical nature of osteopathic treatment, it is normal for some people to experience some discomfort such as pain or stiffness in the first 24 to 48 hours following the session. These sensations are transient and are part of the recovery process.

As part of your treatment plan we will offer you some advice regarding care and management of your condition. As well as any exercises or stretching programs we feel will benefit your rehabilitation and help to prevent further injury.

Our goal is to help you achieve your maximum potential for health and well-being as quickly and safely as possible.

Information for the patient

Osteopathy in Spain

In Spain, unlike in the United Kingdom, the titles "Osteopath" or "Osteopaths" aren't protected by law. This means that qualifications in osteopathy may vary, and there's no mandatory registration with a professional body or requirement for ongoing professional development. While there are undoubtedly well-qualified osteopaths in Spain, it's advisable for potential patients to verify their qualifications before scheduling an appointment.

As for me, I'm registered with both the General Osteopathic Council (G.O.C) in the United Kingdom and the Register of Osteopaths in Spain (R.O.E). This dual registration entails completing a rigorous full-time 4-year degree course in Osteopathy, along with annual commitments to an additional 30 hours of regulated study.

This adherence to strict standards not only ensures my qualifications but also provides patients with a complaints procedure should any issues arise. Rest assured, my commitment to professional excellence and patient well-being is unwavering.
